Main Decisions and Suggestions From SP(I) Office-Bearers’ Teleconferences

To the members & invitees, National Committee.

We had two teleconferences of SP(I) office bearers. Main decisions & suggestions and given below :

1. UP government vindictively launched proceedings to recover Rs 64 lakhs fine for anti-NRC-CAA demonstration in Dec 2019 from Mohammad Shoaib, President SPI state unit. Actually, Shoaib and Darapuri, former IGP were jailed two days before the demonstration. It is illegal & unjust to hold them responsible for the demonstration.

I urge every party unit to send a letter to the UP Chief Minister to drop these proceedings. The letter should be sent to the following address: cmup@nic.in

2. The government is not supplying food grains to poor families. Socialist Party (India) demands all lacunas in the distribution system be plugged and foodgrains be supplied to all families excluding income taxpayers and salary earners. All schools and colleges be started as early as possible with all precautions.

3. Party Units will get two leaflets as indicated below to distribute to one thousand families and all colleges: a) release Mehbuba Mufti, former CM of Jammu and Kashmir and four thousand political activists and restore full statehood to J&K by 15th August 2020, b) get the India-China border clearly settled on the map by 1 May, Worker’s Day 2021, failing which stop all political and economic relations with China. It is not good to inflame war fever. Resolute political action can be enough.

4. SP(I) demands – (i) withdrawal of ordinance extending working hours from 8 to 12, (ii) government purchase of wheat & paddy at MSP till all stocks with farmers are over, (iii) stop denationalisation of LIC, state electricity boards and railway routes.

5. SP(I) will contest by-elections in MP & Assembly election in Bihar. At least 100 members should be enrolled in each seat.

6. The National Committee will meet at Patna on 18th August, 2020. Contact Gautam Kumar for details.
