7th BIENNIAL CONVENTION ON 30th & 31st DECEMBER 2023 AT PANVEL

The political, socio, economic situation in the country is alarming and requires a change of direction. At present with the manipulative consecutive tenure of BJP Government freedom, democracy, equality, social justice, equity, socialism and secularism which is the basic constitutional commitment of the nation is in peril. Manipulation is the architectural approach of the government to de-stabilize the cardinal principles enshrined in the Constitution. Democracy is de-railed. On the pretext of unity the present reign is attempting to establish one man, one party, one nation, a dictatorial system of a majoritanian Hindutva communalism.  This was the declaration of the Rashtriya Swayam Seva Sangh during the freedom struggle. The opportunity of getting power on account of the failure of the congress government, the BJP could capture power and advance in these lines. BJP being the mouthpiece of Rashtriya Swayam Seva Sangh is implementing the policies of Sangh parivar. They are well trained and equipped to manure using power to capture power. The latest incident of suspension of all opposition members of the parliament and getting the business done without any opposition is the latest example of authoritarianism and dictatorship and is the darkest face of democracy. The recent attack in the Parliament House, the incident of Pulwama and Balakot are suspicious and manipulative. The conversion of slogan of unity as that of one leader, one nation, one government, one party seems to be the sole aim of the present government. BJP aspires for a third consecutive term to fulfill their ambition. A road map is prepared to achieve this end.  The introduction of Electronic Voting Machine is also suspected as a manipulation in the process of election. It appears that Congress alone or by themselves are not in a position to throw away the present reign and they are not in a position to build up viable opposition against this dictatorial steps. A wider and larger unity is to be acquired. Policies based on socialism, equality, secularism and democracy is to be presented before the people as a unified program of the opposition. One against BJP is to be the approach in 2024 election.

The socio economic situation is worsening day by day. The poor are not able to find out their livelihood. Poor are becoming further poor. Unemployment rate is increasing by geometrical proportion. Price rise is spiraling. Common man finds it difficult to meet his livelihood. Poverty is increasing. In the world ratio we are equated with Sub- Saharan Africa in the human index. The propaganda is millions of people have been brought out of poverty by the government. Yet government claims free food is given for 85 Crores of people out of 135 Crores of total population. Employment generation is only in highly skilled work not in the ways and means for the poor people to find out their livelihood. Therefore the society is divided into a differentiated society having the poorest of poor and the poor as well as the middle class and upper class. A small section of the society might have enriched themselves that is always less than 35%. 65% had gone further down. The growth of disparity is in wider dimension. Poor are becoming poorer and rich are becoming richer. Caste base divisions are further deepened. The atrocities on account of cow slaughtering and other issues, sufferings of the poor are only increased. Even law and order situation have become tensed on account of caste based communal tension.

The vast majority of the people depend on agriculture as their way of life. The farmers had to fight against the four laws brought by the BJP Government suppressing the right of the Kissan’s in India. Their continuous fight against the government had compelled the government to withdraw the law enacted by the Parliament. But yet agricultural sector is not rearranged as land belongs to the tiller. Opportunity for Exploitation of the monopolies and corporate are permitted by the government. The workers are considered as commodities. Capital has captured the world of production. Workers are converted as paid slaves of the Corporate. The Labour Code enacted by the Parliament had withdrawn all the guarantees given in the constitution and ILO Conventions and Labour Legislations.

Wealth has concentrated in few people. They have become super government. Government owned properties, industries, factories, railway, airport, ports are all given to Corporate Sources. The government has taken a stand fully supporting the corporate and entrusting public properties for them to enjoy. Such Corporate’s have become super powerful. They control the affairs of the government and in turn a new system has emerged which is said to be the Crony Capitalism. There is corporate funding for political parties. Published accounts show that the expenditure of political parties which are in government is originated from these corporate. Corruption is the child of this new fusion of Corporate and ruling political party. This negates the people’s will. A government which is in power may be able to continue in power with the support of these corporate. The growth of this crony capitalism and the vicious relationship of corporate and political party is to be demolished by making the people aware about this conspiracy.

Social degradation and continuance of caste system stand in the way of social justice. Majority of the population are poor, socially backward, Schedule caste and Schedule tribe. This reality is to be brought to light. Everyone should be aware about his share and right. The divided society of India requires a caste census to make the people to aware about their right.

Development should be inclusive. Every citizen is entitled for his share in the nation’s wealth. Few favorites shall not be assigned with the facilities to acquire and amass wealth at the cost of public wealth.  Most of the Corporate’s are the creation of the government. In turn now the governments are becoming the creation of Corporate’s. The policy makers discard the people but consider only the Corporate’s. This is only 1 to 10% of the population. But 90% are out of the orbit of development.

The 4th Industrial Revolution has brought changes all over the world. There is a drastic change in the relationship and mode of production. Artificial Intelligence and Robotism have changed the relationship and mode of production. The importance of human beings has reduced. Consequently there is degradation of humanism. Power, money and technology have become relatively important than human beings. Commoditization of human beings is taking place rapidly. Persons in power having influence and means of controlling productive apparatus takes the front seat relegating the masses to dismay and despair. Equality of men and women is the cardinal principle of socialism. A corporate favored reign will not give any consideration for the totality of the masses. Hence the socialist will have to swim against the tide and have to fight for equality, equity and social justice.

Having given thought to the above mentioned facts and considering the emerging situation, Socialist Party India decides  to support the new formation ‘INDIA’ and to stand united and fight against the BJP in the forthcoming 2024 Parliament Election. The party reiterates that it will stand for strengthening and developing the constitutional commitments of freedom, democracy, secularism and socialism. Social justice is a goal to be achieved with priorities. The party will strive for building a nation devoid of caste creed, discriminations. People’s agitation will be the program of the party, apart from participating in elections in collaboration with other opposition parties.

Equality and social justice are the accepted principle of Socialist Party India. The party consider caste based census will make the backward class, caste and tribe to find out their rights in the nation’s cake.
