It is pathetic to note that the two main doors of emancipation and empowerment of citizens, that is education and courts, both these institutions are still virtual/closed, while entertainment, bars, and marriage gatherings, elections, meetings, all have entered physical mode.
Ilm aur insaaf kay drawaazay abhi physical mode may nahi hai, balkay nasha aur israaf kay zanzeer rihaa kar diye gaye.
One such case where students are traumatized due to their results of backlogs of under graduation from Osmania university center for distance education, hyderabad, not being declared thus far.
Backlog exams (PGRRCDE) Regular & Backlog Examinations November/December – 2020, were held in november 2020 and students who could not get their results till date are facing notices from private MBA colleges that have stipulated a last date for submission of final graduation certificates and marks memo.
Prof G Ram Reddy Osmania University Center for Distance Education, has called for new registrations for academic year 2020-2021 and extended date to 31 January 2021 for admissions to its UG, PG and PG Diploma programs.
How can students enrol with PG programs of Distance education when it has not declared its own graduation backlog results?How can students enrol and pursue their academics of 2020-2021 when results of academic year 2019-2020 are yet to be declared? Why should distance education and open education systems bear such indiscriminate delays?
While distance education and open education system should be strengthened and encouraged proactively, in the interest of our society and country, the system meant for this purpose fails therein.
We urge the Osmania University CDE to declare the results on a priority basis so that students who are already traumatized do not bear extra sufferings in their life-making ages.
We also urge them to give a public notification that no student be denied any admissions for want of certificate for which results not yet declared from OU center for distance education.
