Letter to State Election Commission: In Light of Reported Fraud in Voter List, Postpone the GHMC Election

To

The State Election Commission

Hyderabad

Subject: Postponement of Asifnagar ward election as fraudulent voters observed in the official list given to the contesting candidate on 27 November 2020 – conduct de novo process and form fresh voter list and conduct the corporator elections earliest.

As glaring fraudulence has been observed in the voter list given to me, the contesting candidate from Asifnagar GHMC ward , I have urged and once again urge the State Election Commission to postpone the election scheduled for 1 December 2020 and announce a rescheduled date so that within a time frame a fresh electoral roll voter list can be conducted under de novo process.

De novo process is necessary as for the past six years the voter list could not be purified and authenticated in spite of repeated elections held in 2014, 2018 and 2019.

The actual preliminary fraud for two polling booths has been analyzed and placed in my earlier statement.

It is urged that the election is postponed and fresh date is announced so that in given time frame the de novo electoral roll can be formed.

Please respond promptly as going to elections on fraudulent voter list is against the ECI guidelines.

Best,

Dr Lubna Sarwath

Contesting candidate from Asifnagar ward, GHMC, Hyderabad
