Socialist Party (India) Protests in Support of Farmers’ Movement

Copies of 3 farm laws were burnt on 17 January, 2021, at Company Bagh crossing near Chandrashekhar Azad Agriculture University, Kanpur. The event was organised by Krishna Murari Yadav, 9838775508, 7985181117, and Shankar Singh, 8756103481 in which 15-20 people participated. Rajendra Ravi of NAPM, Delhi joined.

Police detained Munnalal, 9452755765, president, Socialist Mazdoor Sabha, and 3 others Hanuman Prasad, Satish Kumar, Banarasi, and Satish at 8 am on 18 January, 2021, from their village Chandpur Faridpur near Mehmoodabad in Sitapur district after waking them up at 2:30 am to enquire about the protest march from the village to Mehmoodabad tehsil the subsequent morning.

They were taken to Rampur Mathura police station. Ashok, 7497944255 and Sandeep detained at 12 noon when they arrived from Lucknow and taken to the police station. Subsequently, Suresh, Ghuru, Vijay, Sonu, Udhum, Babloo, Ram Chander, Sunita, Vimla, Lakshmi, Lakshmi Devi along with 4 years old daughter Karishma, Kranti, Sona Devi, Nanhe, Santosh, Rahul, Kaptari, Shyamu, Sajan, Pawan, Ankit, Kundan, Lazza, Rampati along with 5 years old daughter Nainsa, Kalawati, Dhiraj, Sagun, Shyamu, Ram Autar, Patia, Maniram all from Chandpur Faridpur village also walked into the police station to court arrest.

All 39 people were released in the evening at 5 pm on the assurance that copies of farm laws will not be burned but not before the station house officer Suresh Chandra Mishra publicly admitted that he committed a mistake by not allowing peaceful procession to take place from village to tehsil headquarters thereby violating fundamental rights of people guaranteed by the Indian constitution.
