A nation is an identity which instills the feeling of safety, community, family, togetherness and belongingness among fellow citizens. But what happens when that identity is taken from you?
It was the year 1950, a similar situation occurred, when that identity for millions of citizens of Tibet succumbed to the land-grabbing ambitions of the People’s Republic of China. What followed after is the complete repression of the cultural, religious and social identities of a nation.
This week on Satyagraha, Episode 12, we will try to understand life in Tibet post its illegal annexation by China. The persecution, exploitation and ethnic obliteration, and the impact of this annexation on South Asian nations like India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, and future concerns.
एक राष्ट्र एक पहचान है जो साथी नागरिकों के बीच सुरक्षा, समुदाय, परिवार, एकजुटता और अपनेपन की भावना पैदा करता है। लेकिन तब क्या होता है जब वह ‘पहचान’ आपसे छीन ली जाती है?
