Socialist Party (India) Takes Out a Cycle Rally in Lucknow to Seek Reduced Dependence on Fossil Fuels

Socialist Party (India) which considers itself the green party of the country seeks reduced dependence of fossil fuels in addition to demanding reduction in prices of petrol and diesel as it has pushed up the prices of essential commodities. Socialist Party (India) also believes that there should be a ban on private motorised vehicles. Public transport system should be strengthened so that people don’t need to keep private vehicles. For the old, physically challenged or any kind of emergency there should be taxi service. Ambulance service should be free. Only police and health departments should have their vechicles, rest should use the public transport system, including the ministers, judges and bureaucrats.

Today’s rally started from Murmuri Tola in Thakurganj at 10:30 am and after a brief stopover at the party’s district office in Chowk it continues and terminated at noon time at Shaheed Smarak. SP(I) state vice president, Babu Mohammad Atiq led the rally. Among the others who participated were Salman Raini, Lucknow district president, Mohammad Ahmed, district vice president, Santosh Thakur, Lucknow (North) assembly president, Shanu Abdul Jabbar, Lucknow (North) vice president, Virendra Gupta, Ram Kishun, Vijay Kumar, Praveen Srivastava, Babar Naqvi, Mohammad Irfan, Shivam Singh, Mohammad Shakir, Shahabu Khan, Abdul Mannan, Javed Khan, Sripal, Shubham Kashyap.
