In response to our representation to DCP North Zone, dated 9 April 2020, against opening of Chilkalguda graveyard on 10 April 2020 from 6am to 5pm, DCP team, acting swiftly and effectively and with full cooperation from President, Managing Committee, Jame Masjid Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat Eigah and Khabrastan, Chilkalguda, Secunderabad, the following notice was issued by the Committee on evening of 9th April 2020, as forwarded to us from North Zone police officials, soon after our complaint was taken up the police officials with the Committee yesterday.
Their notice not only cancelled the 6th April 2020 notice but also forbade anyone from visiting graveyard on 10 April 2020 except for burial purpose complying rules, and advised Muslims to offer prayers at home.
Further, it was clarified today telephonically by the President Asadullah Muhammad ji, that as law-abiding citizens and devout Muslims they never meant to flout any lockdown rules. He further said that non-inclusion of words ‘can visit.. for burial purpose’ has caused the confusion.
We requested them that as responsible citizens we all abide by the rules in cooperation with the brave front liners from police, medical, journalist, sanitation, Anganwadi, and all others who are striving to make life safe and smooth. We also clarified that our concern for the public prompted us to take up the issue.
With honest governance, efficient & humane police, and socially-conscious organizations we can surely overcome any crisis collectively, and in future be vigilant and stop crisis from happening, and, choreograph disaster management in the framework of good governance and scientific norms.
