Sub: Request to withdraw notice dated 17/7/20 issued to Mohmadkaleem Tofiq Ahmed Siddiqui by Incharge Assistant Police Commissioner, A Division, Ahmedabad City.

Respected Sir,

This is to request you to withdraw the notice dated 17/7/20 for externment issued to Mohmadkaleem Tofiq Ahmed Siddiqui, r/o Rakhiyal, Ahmedabad, who is a National Executive Committee Member of our Socialist Party (India) and has contested the 2017 Gujarat Assembly elections from the Vatwa constituency on behalf of our party.

The only reason for issuing this notice to him seems to be his participation in the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act and National Register of Citizens protests in Rakhiyal in December 2019, which was his Constitutional and democratic right.

This attempt by the government to suppress the voice of dissent in a democracy is not a very healthy practice and police should desist from such vindictive action.

I hope in the larger interest of democracy and well being of our society you will withdraw the abovementioned notice so that a law abiding citizen like Mohmadkaleem Tofiq Ahmed Siddiqui is not subjected to undue harassment.

            Thanking You,

            Sincerely,

            (Sandeep Pandey)

            Vice President, Socialist Party (India)
