Support the cause of equity in education and Sandeep Pandey’s fast for the same.
Sandeep Pandey, a socialist activist ,our comrade in the national alliance of people’s movements,has been on fast since last six days in Lucknow. The ideal cause he upholds is that of equity in education which is the constitutional mandate upheld by the Allahabad High Court in UP, through its order in August 2015.
When the inequity in education has been denoting education for a majority of our future generation, the only solution is to improve/ education and institution and make those accessible to the children of the poorest of the poor families. The High Court has rightly guided the society and State on this path through its directive to the bureaucrats to send their children to public school which would bring a magical change in the quality of education therein.
Sandeep Pandey’s fast shows his commitment to revamping the commercialised sector of education, while the Samajwadi Party is adamant on promoting privatization in education. The dialogue between Sandeep and Akhilesh Yadav, the CM, brings out how the ‘Samajwadi’s’ do not care for equitable education nor are they scared of violating the High Court’s order.
Every citizen for equity and justice should support Sandeep Pandey and demand that the UP government obey the judicial verdict.
Let children in various schools write letters to Akhileshji asking him to Save their future.
We appeal to the Honourable High Court to take suo motto cognizance of Sandeep’s fast and get a contempt case filed against the government.
We demand that all the political parties make their stand clear on this issue without wasting any time beyond six days.
