The following notice issued on the letter head of Managing Committee Jame Masjid Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat Eidgah and Graveyard, Chilkalguda, Secunderabad, is blatantly against the lockdown rules and the ongoing struggle to contain and overcome the pandemic onslaught on our city, state, country and the world.

Your notice for ‘Muslim Brothers’ that “they can visit the Chilkalguda Khabrastan on 10.4.2020 after Fajr i.e. 6.00 am to 5.00 pm” is highly irresponsible and illegal.

We urge you to withdraw the notice and issue a fresh notice advising and cautioning that nobody should venture to visit the Khabrastan/graveyard, in accordance with existing COVID-19 pandemic rules and circumstances.
We have confirmation from the Police top officials including DCP, Addl DCP, ACP that no permissions have been accorded to you.  DCP North zone said: ‘It is not in our notice.  We will immediately look into the issue’.

We also have confirmation from Markaz Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, Shaheen nagar, Hyderabad that they have advised all muslims to stay home for prayers and not to visit graveyard either on 9th or on 10th and to strictly comply with the Covid19 pandemic rules.

As such, we urge you again to issue a notice cancelling your earlier notice of 6 April 2020 as an urgent step in people’s interest.

We wish you and your organization Stay Safe, Stay Home. Our brave front-liners the medical staff, police staff, journalists, sanitation staff, governmental staff, bank employees, are putting their lives at risk to run the system so that COVID-19 pandemic is routed.  It is our responsibility to cooperate with them.
