“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
The intention of this collective appeal to the military regiment of Myanmar, beyond the obvious denunciation of mindless violence on its own civilians and an urgent call to cease the violence, is also to open a dialogue on restoring the faith of people the world over in liberty, democracy and basic humanity.
The ripples of violence on humanity, perpetrated in any corner of the world, affect the human psyche of every individual on the face of this earth, consciously and subconsciously. We are still struggling to heal from the scars of the countless genocides of the past and it is a matter of deep shame to the aggregate humanity of the world to even take another step in that direction, having witnessed the horror of genocide many times over.
Children brought into this world deserve better than being shot in the eye before they turn one year old and being killed before they turn two. The very definition of “civilization” comes under legitimate scrutiny when people of a state, without whom there would be no state, are slaughtered, oppressed and persecuted mindlessly for the exclusive intention of grabbing power. Such power, even when usurped momentarily, renders itself meaningless as soon as it is gained at the unconscionable cost of even one human life, let alone hundreds.
We also implore the military command to think about the humanity of the soldiers who are forced to perpetrate these dehumanizing crimes. No human being, under any condition, should be coerced to kill a fellow human, let alone their fellow citizens.
We the humans of the world, write in the faintest of hopes to appeal to the traces of humanity, if they still persist, of those who are in charge of this carnage to stop the violence immediately and to restore the moral, democratic and human rights of the civilians of Myanmar with immediate effect.

Military regime must end and democracy should reinstate.
Yes indeed Injustice anywhere is a threat to Justice and Democracy every where.Let us collectively say NO TO MILITARISATION and WARs
Oppression anywhere is Oppression everywhere, for we are one in the human family. Vasudhaiva kutumbakam
Stop oppression of general public who support democracy.
Human spirit can never be crushed by any dictator
“Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely!”
This is an evergreen adage! Nothing could be more true than the above truism!!
We need to find ways of living wherein concentration of power is prevented by dispersing it as much as we can envision. Military dictatorship is absolute negation of that effort. We need to envision ways of living (systems of governance) wherein military/police have minimal and dispersed power so it cannot be abused to oppress the the very society they are supposed to protect.
It should be stopped
