Update (29/03): Relief Work by Socialist Party (India) During Lockdown in Lucknow

Socialist Party (India) Lucknow District President Salman Raini

Salman Raini (Ph:9335281976, 9198379619), Lucknow District President of Socialist Party (India) and General Secretary of ‘Young Farmers Traders Fruits and Vegetables Business Association,’ Dubagga, Lucknow is spearheading relief efforts in Lucknow during the lockdown in the wake of coronavirus threat. His team is reaching out to daily wage workers, homeless on streets and in shelter homes and patients or their caretakers outside hospitals and delivering food to them. Being an office-bearer of the fruit and vegetable mandi association he has got a curfew pass to move around. Yesterday, flour and vegetables were delivered to Md. Ismail, a mason from Sultanpur stuck in Lucknow with 3 other family members living in a temporary shelter in Nishatganj and pulses, oil, etc. were provided at a shelter home for homeless in Aishbagh with 12 inmates run by our colleague Sharad Patel.

If you are interested in contributing to these relief efforts you may do so in the following ways:

(2)  Provide raw food items or cooked food packets or even rotis. If you give a call on the number of Salman Raini or Abhyudaya Pratap Singh, 9559156946, somebody will pick it up from your place.

28/3/20: Rs. 2,000 given to Safiya Khatun for treatment of her 5 yrs. old son Abdul Raheem who suffered serious head injury in a road accident with a battery rickshaw which overturned on him on 7/3/20, the familiy owes Rs. 20,000 to a private hospital which we’re trying to get waived

28/3/20: 600 kg Potato, 600 kg Onion, 125 kg Lauki, 125 kg Kaddu sold at purchase price from mandi (at subsidised rates), Rs. 55 for 2.5 kg Potato, Rs. 50 kg for 2.5 kg Onion, Rs. 30 for 2 kg Lauki, Rs. 30 for 2 kg Kaddu (these were maximum quantities given to a family), about 200 families benefitted at 2 sites in Para and at Haider Canal, Purvideen Kheda, 4 extremely poor families of Rajkumari, Ram Pyari, Baby and one more woman were given free packet of vegetables.
