For the General Secretary of Rihai Manch, Rajeev Yadav, who is contesting from the Nizamabad assembly elections.
Rajeev Yadav is the joint candidate of the movement groups from Nizamabad constituency of Azamgarh in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. For the past 17 years, he has been an active defender of human rights- raising voice for the marginalised- the minorities, Dalits, Women and the poor.
Advocate Muhammad Shoaib, who was jailed in the anti-CAA- NRC movement, is the President of Rihai Manch and Rajeev is the General Secretary.
Since 2007, after the Batla House encounter, several young Muslim men were picked up by the Police, arrested, slapped with false charges and imprisoned for years. Rihai Manch was instrumental in providing legal aid to many people and freeing them from false allegations. This platform has also fought a legal and political battle against the arrest of innocent Dalit- Backward-Muslim youths in fake cases by the police or even killing them in encounters under the Yogi government’s ‘Thok Do Policy’ . Rajeev went to the court against Yogi Adityanath’s communal politics and also made a documentary film named ‘Saffron War’.
Rajeev has repeatedly actively fought fake police encounters, extra judicial killings, atrocities against Dalit students, communal politics. He is a vocal voice of Uttar Pradesh in the mass movement against the abolition of the SC-ST act, the demand for caste census and the struggle against agricultural laws.
For this, he has faced a number of legal and physical attacks from the Uttar Pradesh government. When the government system collapsed during the Corona Pandemic, Rajeev was present on the streets day and night for the fleeing people.Rajeev has decided to contest the elections with the help of the general public. राजीव यादव, 2022 के उत्तर प्रदेश विधानसभा चुनाव में आजमगढ़ के निजामाबाद निर्वाचन क्षेत्र से आंदोलनकारी समूहों के साझा उम्मीदवार हैं। पिछले 17 वर्षों से राजीव लोकतांत्रिक अधिकारों के लिए सक्रिय रूप से संघर्षरत हैं, खासतौर से हाशिए पर रहने वाले- अल्पसंख्यकों, दलितों, पिछड़ों, महिलाओं और गरीबों के लिए आवाज उठा रहे हैं।
सीएए-एनआरसी विरोधी आंदोलन में जेल गए एडवोकेट मुहम्मद शुऐब रिहाई मंच के अध्यक्ष हैं और राजीव महासचिव हैं। 2007 के बाटला हाउस मुठभेड़ के बाद, कई मुस्लिम युवकों को पुलिस ने उठाया, गिरफ्तार किया, झूठे आरोप लगाए और वर्षों से जेल में रखा है। रिहाई मंच ने कई लोगों को कानूनी सहायता प्रदान करने और झूठे आरोपों से मुक्त कराने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाई। इस मंच ने योगी सरकार की ‘ठोक दो’ नीति के तहत बेकसूर दलित-पिछड़ें-मुस्लिम युवकों को पुलिस द्वारा फर्जी केसों में गिरफ्तार करने या मुठभेड़ में मार डालने के खिलाफ भी कानूनी और राजनैतिक लड़ाई लड़ी है। योगी आदित्यनाथ की साम्प्रदायिक राजनीति के खिलाफ राजीव न्यायालय भी गए और सैफरन वॉर नाम की डॉक्यूमेंट्री फ़िल्म भी बनाई।
राजीव ने बार-बार फर्जी पुलिस मुठभेड़ों, गैरकानूनी हत्याओं, दलित छात्र-छात्रों के खिलाफ अत्याचार, सांप्रदायिक राजनीति का सक्रिय रूप से मुकाबला किया है। वह एससी-एसटी एक्ट को खत्म करने के खिलाफ जनआंदोलन, जातिगत जनगणना की मांग और कृषि कानूनों के खिलाफ संघर्ष में उत्तर प्रदेश की एक मुखर आवाज हैं। इसकी वजह से उन्हें उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार की ओर से कई कानूनी और शारीरिक हमलों का सामना करना पड़ा है। कोरोना महामारी के दौरान जब सरकारी सिस्टम ध्वस्त हो गया था, तब राजीव पलायन कर रहे लोगों के लिए दिन-रात सड़कों पर मौजूद रहे।
