SP(I) EXTENDS SPECIAL THANKS TO SONAM WANGCHUK AND CONGRATULATES PROTESTERS ON THE RESIGNATION OF UNION EDUCATION MINISTER DHARMENDRA PRADHAN

The SOCIALIST PARTY (INDIA) extends its heartiest congratulations, revolutionary greetings, and deep solidarity to the thousands of students, youth, activists, and citizens whose unwavering determination at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar and across the nation has forced the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The SOCIALIST PARTY (INDIA) places on record its deepest gratitude, special thanks, and profound congratulations to renowned education reformer and activist Mr. Sonam Wangchuk. By standing at the absolute forefront of this movement and taking the bold initiative to launch a historic 26-day indefinite hunger strike, Mr. Wangchuk single-handedly galvanized the nation. His extraordinary courage and ultimate sacrifice acted as the foundational catalyst that unified the youth, breathed immense strength into the agitation, and shook the conscience of the entire country.

This milestone is a monumental victory for democracy, accountability, and the collective willpower of India’s youth. For over a month, central Delhi became the battleground for institutional integrity. The youth-led agitation, sparked by Mr. Sonam Wangchuk’s fast and championed by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) along with allied student and progressive organizations, has successfully bent an otherwise unyielding administration.

The massive corruption, administrative irregularities, and institutional failures surrounding the high-profile NEET-UG 2026 examination paper leaks put the careers and futures of over 20 lakh students at stake. Instead of addressing these grievances with empathy and urgency from day one, the ruling dispensation chose to respond with severe internet blackouts, heavy barricading, and a brutal police crackdown involving baton charges and tear gas on peaceful student marches.

Despite being labeled with derogatory terms and facing severe state hostility, the young generation demonstrated unprecedented resilience, proving that the youth of this country are vigilant guardians of their constitutional rights. By reclaiming a space for dissent, they have sent a clear message: public accountability can no longer be evaded in a democratic nation.

While the SOCIALIST PARTY (INDIA) welcomes this long-overdue resignation as a critical first step, we assert that accountability does not end here. A structural change is required to clean the rot within India’s examination and educational apparatus. We demand comprehensive, transparent educational reforms, structural reorganization of the National Testing Agency (NTA), and absolute legal immunity for every single student who participated in these protests. Furthermore, the government must ensure complete and honorable compensation to the families of the unfortunate students who lost their lives to suicide due to the immense mental trauma caused by this exam crisis.

The SOCIALIST PARTY (INDIA) once again salutes Mr. Sonam Wangchuk for his visionary leadership, alongside every individual protester, follower, and supporter who stood firm at Jantar Mantar and across the states. This triumph is proof that when ordinary citizens unite under fearless leadership against injustice, the mightiest structures of power are forced to concede.
