With the leftover money from the donations received for covid relief efforts, a plan is to be devised to provide an impetus to certain marginalised communities. Three such communities were identified in Lucknow: (i) Stonecutters (ii) Dholak Makers (iii) Chikan hand work artisans. These would be given interest free credit for pursuing their businesses.

A Walk for Life or Death – Migrants Crisis Deepens | Update on Relief Efforts by Socialist Party (India)
Thanks to our donors who have contributed over INR 10 lakh, from the start of the lockdown period, we have provided around 75,000 meals through our 20 community kitchens, and provided other forms of support like distribution of free/subsidised ration, masks, sanitary napkins etc to over 23,000 people.

In 11 days, we had doubled our kitchens to 8 across Lucknow and then thanks to our donors, we doubled again to 16 kitchens in just 5 days. We are now feeding over 3500 meals a day and still continue to receive demands for new kitchens.
